Prelims Round of the Technical Quiz-2K23
Introduction : The preliminary round of the technical quiz organized by the Vemana
Institute of Technology's IST Student Chapter was successfully conducted as part of
an engaging and competitive event. The quiz aimed to test participants' knowledge in
various technical domains and identify the brightest minds for the final round. This
report provides an overview of the prelims round, including participation statistics,
question format, selection criteria, and an update on the upcoming final round.
Event Details :
Prelims Round Format : The preliminary round featured a diverse set of 15 multiplechoice questions (MCQs) that spanned across various technical disciplines. These
questions were carefully curated to challenge participants' understanding of different
topics and gauge their problem-solving skills within a limited time frame. The
participants were required to choose the correct option from the provided choices for
each question.
Participation and Selection : Out of the 81 registered groups, a total of 60 groups
actively participated in the prelims round. The active participation demonstrated the
enthusiasm and interest of the students in the technical quiz. The competition was
fierce as participants from various backgrounds and academic levels engaged in the
challenge.
After evaluating the answers submitted by the participating teams, the top-performing
groups emerged based on their scores. Two exceptional teams with the highest scores
were selected directly to the finals, showcasing their exceptional understanding of the
subject matter.
Tiebreakers Test : However, in the pursuit of a fair selection process, a situation
arose where multiple teams exhibited similar scores. To determine the most deserving
candidates, a tiebreakers test was conducted for the five teams that were closely
matched in their performance. This test comprised additional questions designed to be
more challenging and thought-provoking. Following the tiebreakers test, three teams
showcased their prowess and secured their spots in the finals.
Final Round : The final round of the technical quiz is scheduled to take place on the
18th of August, 2023. This stage of the competition promises to be even more
exhilarating as the selected teams face off to claim the championship title. The
finalists will be challenged with a series of complex questions that will not only test
their technical knowledge but also their ability to think critically and respond swiftly.
Final Round
The finals of the technical quiz consisted of a total of 5 rounds. The first round was
the "Emoji Round," followed by the "Crossword Round," an "Audio Round," an
"HRD Round," and concluding with the "Technical Round." This multi-round format
seems to have provided a diverse and comprehensive assessment of participants'
knowledge and abilities across various aspects of technology and related fields.
Emoji Round : Participants likely had to decode technical terms or concepts
represented using emoji’s. This round might have tested their quick thinking and
familiarity with terminology.
Crossword Round : This round probably involved solving a crossword puzzle where
the clues and answers were related to technical subjects. It likely required participants
to have a strong grasp of technical vocabulary.
Audio Round : In this round, participants might have listened to audio clips or
recordings related to various technical topics and answered questions based on what
they heard. This could have tested their ability to identify and comprehend technical
information from audio sources.
HRD Round : The Human Resources Development (HRD) round might have focused
on soft skills, teamwork, communication, and ethics in the context of technical
scenarios. This round could have assessed participants' holistic skills beyond technical
knowledge.
Technical Round : The final round likely involved in-depth technical questions,
testing participants' deep understanding of the subject matter. This round might have
covered a wide range of technical concepts and challenged participants' expertise.
The combination of these diverse rounds would have provided a comprehensive assessment of participants' technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and communication skills.
It's great to hear that the audience was actively involved through question passing and direct interaction. Recognizing and rewarding the audience for correct on-the-spot answers added an interactive element to the event. Overall, this multi-round format helped keep participants and attendees engaged, making for an interactive and dynamic quiz experience.
WINNER, TEAM TECHNO BLADE
RUNNER UP, TEAM AB TECH
After successfully navigating through all the rounds, two teams emerged victorious. "Techno Blade" secured the first-place position as the quiz winner, while "Team AB Tech" earned the runner-up title. This multi-round approach along with audience involvement contributed to an interactive and exciting quiz experience.
