The Vemana IT student branch Chapter aims at promoting the students to essential leadership, management, and professional skills. On March 22^nd, 2023, Vemana Institute of Technology received approval from the IEEE for the formation of 3 Student Branch Chapters namely Communications Society, Computer Society, and Circuits and Systems. Presently Vemana IT has 36 IEEE student members with 15 faculty.

IEEE PAPER PRESENTATION - 2023

IEEE Paper Presentation 2023 was jointly organized and conducted by IEEE, the ISTE Karnataka Section and the Vemana Institute of Technology, Bangalore in association with Visvesvaraya Technological University, (VTU) Belgavi, with the theme “Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Future”. on 6^th May 2023. The Paper presentation intended to provide opportunities for students to showcase and share their innovative skills in addressing challenges of our times related to health care, renewable energy and environment using cutting edge technologies and also to increase teamwork require to play a lead role in the global arena and to build a strong network of students technocrats of multiscale for sustainable progress in the future.

The event started with the inauguration by the dignitaries Dr. B.P. Harish, Professor & Chairman, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, UVCE University, Bangalore, Dr. Ravi Kumar, Dr. Smitha J A.

There were 80 students who were present and attended the Paper Presentation event.

IEEE Avishkar 2023 was jointly organized and conducted by IEEE, the ISTE Karnataka Section and the Vemana Institute of Technology, Bangalore in association with Visvesvaraya Technological University,(VTU) Belgavi, with the theme “Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Future”. on 6^th May 2023. The event started with the inauguration bythe dignitaries Subhas Mondal, SVP & Head of Research and Development, Chair elect in IEEE communication society and Mr.Kannan Babu, Senior Principal Engineer in the Network Edge group and Mr.C.Tharun Kumar, Structural Engineer in Neo Structures Architects and Prof.S.Mohan, Group Director in Indian Space Research Organization and Saravannan Ganesh, Managing Director at Tech Sparx Technology Training School.

There were 108 Project Exhibition – 108 from various departments like IT : 45 Teams, ECE : 39, ME : 14, Civil : 10students who were present and attended the Project Exhibition event.

The event was successful, prize money was awarded to Mangalore Institute of Technology for the project “SMART BED WITH TOILET SYSTEM”

IEEE Ideathon 2023 was jointly organized and conducted by IEEE, the ISTE Karnataka Section and theVemana Institute of Technology, Bangalore in association with Visvesvaraya Technological University, (VTU) Belgavi, with the theme “Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Future”. on 6^th May 2023. The Ideathon 2023 intended to provide opportunities for students to showcase and share their innovative skills in addressing challenges of our times related to health care, renewable energy and environment using cutting edge technologies and also to increase teamwork require to play a lead role in the global arena and to build a strong network of student’s technocrats of multiscale for sustainable progress in the future.

The event started with the inauguration bythe dignitaries Ms. Sahana.

There were 40 teams who were present and attended the event.

The Professional society committee of Vemana Institute of technology has organized ORIENTATION TALK ON INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS (IEEE) on 25^th February, 2023 for students and faculty. The session started with welcoming the speaker Dr.D.N.Sujatha, BMS College of Engineering.

Dr.D.N.Sujatha started the talk with the history of IEEE which is since from 1884 .This is the body with 422k+ members, 160+ countries, 46+technical societies, 220+journals, 1300+active standards and 5M documents. This includes student and faculty memberships and its benefits. This also provides 12 magazines, 12 newsletters and 6 potential magazines every year. This benefits the students with IEEE resume lab, IEEE job site, career alerts, IEEE e-learning library and many more..IEEE day is celebrated on 3rd October every year and IEEE AGM that is section funding Bangalore is on 1st Sunday of January every year. Vemana is planning for IEEE communication society and IEEE women in engineering society with chair, vice chair, treasurer, secretary.

The talk ended up with thank you note to the speaker and the audience.

On 08^th April 2023, the inauguration ceremony of the IEEE- Communication Society student branch chapter was heldat Vemana Institute of Technology Bangalore. Dr. Vijayasimha Reddy B. G, Principal, Vemana ITwelcomed the guests, faculties, and students.

The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp and releasing the banner of VEMANA IT- IEEE communication society student branch chapter by the chief guest Mr. Anindya Saha,Chair IEEE ComSoc Bangalore Chapter& theChief Technology Officer, Saankhya Labs.

The session was continued with a technical talk by the chief guest Mr. Anindya Saha. The talk was on “Integrated Sensing and Communication in 5G-Advanced”

SCILAB is one of the free and open source software for numerical computation providing a powerful computing environment for engineering and scientific application. On this point of view Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Vemana institute of technology and IEEE communication Society Student Chapter and incubation center has organized a hands-on workshop on SCILAB on 8^th April 2023 by Kesavan Thirupati, senior software engineer, VLSI and MATLAB programmer innovation system plus. The session was on basics of SCILAB and its features, functions. The session continued with programs related to numerical problems and matrix operations. This workshop was very informative and enabled the students to execute simple Programs on image processing.

The inauguration ceremony of the IEEE- Computer Society student branch chapter was held on 31st May 2023, at Vemana Institute of Technology Bengaluru. Dr. Kantharaju H C , Head of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Department, Vemana ITwelcomed the guests, faculties, and students.

The inauguration ceremony of the IEEE- Women In Engineering student branch chapter was held on 31st May 2023, at Vemana Institute of Technology Bengaluru. Prof. Ankitha A, IEEE branch counsellor Vemana IT welcomed theguests, faculties, and students.

The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp and releasing the banner of WIE student branch chapter by the dignitaries, students, and faculty members.

Deeksha SM chair of WIE of student branch of Vemana IT briefed about the WIE and the events planned for the academic year 2023. Presently Vemana IT has 36 WIE student members with 2 faculty. The Vemana IT student chapter aims at promoting the students to essential leadership, management, and professional skills. The inauguration was followed by quiz which was conducted by the chief guest Dr. Ashwini Appaji M. The students enjoyed the session and goodies were distributed.
